Gift Guide For Him

Welcome to my first Christmas gift guide *squeels*
I can hardly contain my excitement that I'm finally writing these but instead of rambling for ages I'll get straight into it.

For the standard guy...
  1. Wallets
Ted Baker £37.00 (from John Lewis)
My favourite thing to buy my dad/brother/boyfriend. Everyone needs one, it's stylish but isn't loads of variety to chose from so you can't get it that wrong. Also, plus for those of us with a smaller budget, wallets aren't that expensive. Be careful though, they're good prezzies if you're stuck but aren't as personal as some other things you could buy. Some places to look...

John Lewis - Some great brands that he's gonna love.
TopMan -for your brother/botyfriend?
Next -for your Grandad?

2. Socks... Underpants... Scarfs....

Phwoarr...

Anyway, there's no shame in getting the basics, especially if you're expected to get little extras as well as a big present. But if you are, keep it classy. Clavin Klein Underwear is always a good shout (for you as well!) Christmassy socks are fun, if not a lil cliché. Have a look in Primark for socks if they're only extras, maybe remove the label though? (Sorry Primark!)

3. After Shave

Diesel Only The Brave Wild

So I've been talking to the "men" in my life about presents all boys/men would like and after shave seems the best option. It doesn't look cheap, it's something that they will actually need and use, plus you can make it personal as it's up to you or them to chose a scent. If you know them well, you could brave it and chose one yourself. Otherwise, asking never hurts! Where to look...

Boots - reasonably priced, good range and normally have deals!
Debenhams- Again, good range and currently have 15% off
Next - Branded but a fabby price

For the sporty guy

If your [insert male relative] is a sporty type, you're in luck. You've got a whole other section of the shop to pick from. Obviously it really depends on what sport they're into, but there are some gifts that spread across quite a few.

Sports wear (helmet)

Tog24 (currently on sale to £45!)

As a skier, I first thought of what I would like as a skier. After talking to my family (who are fellow skiers), we all agreed that a ski helmet would be a brilliant gift. Then again, if you're looking for anyone that skis/snowboards, anything related to the sport would be a great present. From ski gloves to a ski jacket... it's personal and unique and the right season!

Anyway, back to helmets. My personal favourite ski wear shop is Tog 24 and I highly recommend it. Most of my ski wear is from Tog24. I liked this idea because it's applicable to a lot of sports and would be a really creative gift rather than the bog standard stuff. Where else to look?

Decathlon - Great quality sports wear
Sports Direct - loads of types of helmets for all sports

Trainers

Nike free trainer- £100

He doesn't have to be sporty, trainers are so in right now, they'd be a great gift for anyone. In fact I'm getting a pair this Christmas. If you want to splash out and get trainers as a main gift, why not try personalising a pair. Now that's awesome! Otherwise, get some trainers that would suit them for whatever sport they do. Where to look?

Nike - Great brand and absolutely loads of choice. Bit on the pricey side though...
Adidas - Pretty much the same but a different brand. Whichever they'd prefer I guess?

Sports Technology

Tom Tom Multi Sport Watch - £99

If your guy likes running, cycling or going to the gym a lot, something like this might be perfect. It's a pretty interesting gift and it would be a really useful addition to their fitness 'routine.'

There's a massive range of sports technology here! If you're on a smaller budget, think of other things that might be useful to him. Does he need a new water bottle? Would a phone case that attaches to his arm while he runs be something he'd use? Have a browse through John Lewis, Amazon and Tesco. You're sure to find something he'd appreciate.

For the techno guy

Okay. So for guys that are properly into their computers, headphones ect, it's probably best to let them choose their own presents. But for guys that are just into music, gaming and aren't massive technology experts, it makes a great gift idea!

Headphones

Sony - £22.49

Everyone needs headphones and they make a really cool yet practical gift. It also doesn't matter what your budget is with headphones. These Sony ones are £22.49 but on the same John Lewis page are Bose headphones for £269. It's totally up to you! If he's just an avid music listener and commutes or runs, why not get him some good plug ear phones rather than the shitty Apple ones we all have? Where to look?

John Lewis - As I said, a big price range but really good quality products.
Tesco Direct - Got a massive range of products at some very good prices, can't argue with that!

Technology accessories

Juice Bar Speaker £25.00
It's quite hard to chose specific products for the category. There are so many different devices that come with different accessories that do different things. I think these kind of gifts are really cool because you don't necessarily ask for them but they're so useful when you actually get them. Some other examples are the Juice Cube (portable phone charger) or aTripod for smartphones if he's into photography. There are so many options, just have a browse online! Where to look?

John Lewis - Some really cool stuff at pretty decent prices as well.
Amazon - Has just about everything you could ever want, in every colour known to man.

The fashionable guy

Again, this is hard to chose a specific product but you have got it easy if your man is into fashion. There are literally hundreds of shops dedicated to selling clothing, and some of it's pretty nice. If you know their style then what are you waiting for girl?! If not, polo shirts and branded T-shirts always go down a treat. Try to avoid trousers/shorts if you don't know there style because boys are surprisingly picky with things like their jeans' fit. Can't imagine why??

Well there you go, there are some of my awesome present ideas for the men in your life. Even whilst writing this and doing some researching, I've had so many gift ideas for some of the guys I haven't bought presents for yet. If you get really stuck, scroll through the men gift idea pages online on department store's websites. They're full of quirky gift ideas as well as the standard stuff that works for almost anyone!

I hope this helps some of you, let me know what you get him in the comments below. I'd be interested to hear and hopefully it's some extra inspiration for those of us that are still stuck!

Thanks for reading and see you next time,

  2. Hey, I think your website might be having browser compatibility issues.
When I look at your website in Opera, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it
has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up!

    Other then that, fantastic blog!
